Property Description

The House is a Georgian period luxury holiday home based on the waterfront and near The New Forest and has been fully refurbished to provide accommodation for 6 holiday makers and includes: 3 double bedrooms, with 3 bathrooms and all modern amenities. The rear, south facing, garden is fully walled with garage parking for a family car + a single space for boat or car directly in front of garage.

Southampton Port is the home to many of the Worlds leading cruise liners. During the season P&O and Cunard liners are frequent visitors as they make their inward and outward journeys around the world.

Throughout the day and night ships of all sizes and types may be seen close at hand as they slip gently past. Cunards new and famous QM2 is a regular visitor and her berth, within view, is almost opposite Hythe.

It comprises: Sitting room with views over Southampton water, fireplace, 2 leather settee's + leather chair, t.v. with freeview/DVD and video player. Dining room with oak dining table and chairs with views over water and rear garden. Ground floor family bathroom with bath, w.c., and basin. Kitchen with slate floor, comtemporary modern maple kitchen with integral fridge, combination microwave/grill, integral freezer, ceramic halogen hob, double oven/grill, washing machine, dishwasher. Ideal for less-able Bedroom 3 is issituated on the ground floor with 2 x 2.6ft single beds, wardrobe & Tv with freeserve. Master bedroom with views over Southampton water, Tv with freeserve, chrome king size bed, wardrobe and en-suite shower room with basin and w.c. Bedroom 2 overlooking rear with 2 x 3.0ft single beds, wardrobe, Tv with freeserve and en-suite shower room with basin. A separate W.c. is located on landing adjacent to Bedroom 3.

Attractive front railed garden leading to Prospect Place and the green with the shingle waterfront to Southampton water. Split level enclosed rear garden with cast iron table and chairs, flower beds, walling, paved courtyard. Double french doors lead to garage located within the garden. Parking within garage for 2 cars and parking outside of the garage for 1 car, located from Doctor's surgery car park at the rear. Extra parking available within Hythe village. Parking clock provided for your use should need extra parking be required.

Travel Info & Local Advice

This property can be accessed via car using the M3, M27 & A326 to Fawley, or you can take a train to Southampton Central station, then you can get the free bus which links you to the Hythe Ferry Terminal at Town Quay via West Quay Shopping. Alternatively you can fly into Southampton Parkway Eastleigh Airport take a train to Southampton Central Train Station and as previously the bus and Ferry to Hythe. Travelling around the area is easy, and a car is not necessary. The New Forest Tour bus comes into Hythe during high season.

Hythe, where the Forest meet the Sea, boasts of having the oldest working pier train in the world. Its narrow gauge railway takes passengers to the pier head where the short trip is taken to Southampton.

The village, together with its mixture of Georgian, Victorian and modern architecture, has many shops and is fortunate to have one of Britain's favourite supermarkets, a small Waitrose, where excellence in foods may be found.

There are a variety of local inns and restaurants within the village and marina, where a complete choice of foods are served.

A free of charge public slipway is available for launching dinghies and powerboats. Short term boat
storage is available from Hythe Marina.

The open walks in the New Forest are just 3 miles away. Exbury Gardens, with its train ride through the Rhododendrons gardens and Beaulieu Palace, with the renowned Motor Museum, are all within 15 minutes drive.

Two separate sandy/shingle beaches for swimming and sail boarding are at approximately 6 miles distance. Horse riding, golf, indoor swimming/sauna, rock climbing, track cycling and dry skiing are also available in the ‘Hythe & Waterside’ areas. Power Rib Boat lessons may be taken at the Marina, 2 minutes walk away. Bicycle hire is available within the village. Hythe also has an open air market each Tuesday.

A 15 minute trip on the Hythe Ferry leaves every 30 minutes throughout the day. It will take you to Southampton and passes closely to Southampton's Dock Head.

The Isle of Wight is approximately 30 minutes by Hydrofoil or a 60 minute Car Ferry trip and ferries depart hourly from Southampton, adjacent to the Hythe Ferry landing jetty.

A little further afield, approximately 10 to 12 miles, we have the countryside towns of Lyndhurst and Lymington. Within 35 minutes by car, the City of Winchester, capital of Wessex, and at 40 minutes drive, Salisbury, famous for the highest Cathedral spire in England. The resort of Bournemouth with its fine sandy beaches is just 40/50 minutes drive.
