Property Description

Stylishly decorated Provençal self catered apartment in the South of France with beautiful balcony views of palm and mimosa gardens. Minutes stroll to beach and restaurants along bamboo lined path. Perfectly situated for excursions to St. Tropez, Gorges Du Verdon, Grasses and Les lles D'Hyéres.

St Clair is small and village-like, yet very close to its more vibrant and busy neighbour, Le Lavandou. The beach is regarded as one of the prettiest on the Cote d'Azur. The hills behind are wild and undeveloped with winding roads linking villages, which appear to have seen little change in centuries.

The apartment is just 400 metres from the beach, so it's easy to pop down for a morning swim and come back for breakfast and in just a few minutes you'll discover a good choice of interesting and reasonably priced restaurants - some overlooking the sea. There are two general shops, which sell most things including bread and one remains open all day without a break in summer. Tennis courts are nearby. Le Lavandou is close enough for an evening stroll and you can choose between two pleasant routes, one along the sea front and the other along a quiet road, perfect for bikes or pushchairs.

Accommodation

This smart, modern holiday accommodation for four people is on the first floor of a quiet, Provençal style apartment building. Your own numbered parking space is right outside the front door, so you don't have to search for a parking spot and it's convenient for unpacking when you arrive.

The balconies are a big attraction of the apartment. One is a covered loggia, perfect for eating and relaxing in the shade and the other is uncovered for sunbathing. Both have views of the gardens below and the hills behind.

The kitchen is fully fitted and equipped with a simple to use British microwave/combi oven, a two burner electric hob, toaster, electric kettle, fridge and Provençal-style crockery. In fact, everything you might need to put together a pleasant meal - should the tempting produce in the local market inspire you.

The Bathroom is large with a powerful shower, lots of hot water, vanity sink unit and plenty of cupboards to store toiletries. There is also a British washing machine, a hairdryer and a radiator type towel rail for the cooler months.

The Bedroom offers you the choice of 2 single or a very large, comfortable double bed. The built-in wardrobes provide plenty of space to store away all your belongings and cases, as well as the iron and ironing board and beach equipment. A ceiling fan keeps you comfortable in the height of summer and the French doors open onto a balcony, where a mimosa tree blooms frequently in a haze of yellow pompoms.

The Living room is decorated in warm, Mediterranean colours and is stylishly furnished. One of the sofas makes into a comfortable, 5' wide, double bed - open the shutters first thing in the morning to enjoy the sunshine filtering through the palm and pine trees. There's a CD/tape player, a TV/Video, a fan heater and the loggia, which opens off the living room, has its own patio furniture.

All inclusive of cleaning and linen, even beach towels. Just pack your personal things and come. A great escape anytime from Spring til Autumn.

By rail: via Marseilles or Toulon to Hyéres station

A taxi from Hyéres to St Clair costs around £30 and from Toulon £45
