This fine Lakeland House dates from the early 1900's and has been extended and modernised to create a wonderful home in the heart of The Lake District National Park. Bramrigg House is located just a ten minute walk away from the picturesque village of Grasmere, famous for its association with Wordsworth and the Lake Poets. Standing in private gardens at the foot of Helvellyn in a truly elevated position, this has to be one of the finest holiday homes available in the Lake District.
Accommodation
Bramrigg House can accommodate 10+ people, with four large bedrooms upstairs - two doubles and two twins (with two additional pull-out beds). On the ground floor is a private suite which sleeps two people in a double bedroom with en suite facilities and a private sitting room which may be used as an additional bedroom. All rooms have superb views of the surrounding hills.
The traditionally furnished sitting room enjoys magnificent views over Silver How, Steel Fell and Helm Crag. The room seats up to ten people on comfortable sofas and window seats and offers a real fire, stereo system, TV, DVD and full SKY digital satellite system.
The adjacent dining room also seats up to ten people and leads into the magnificent farmhouse kitchen, fully equipped with breakfast bar, double oven aga, all modern appliances and colour TV all brought together with beautiful fittings. The main bathroom is fitted with Victorian king sized bath and separate shower unit. All the bedrooms have their own hand wash basins. A second bathroom is available in the ground floor suite and an additonal toilet is available on the ground floor.
The mature gardens are another feature, and have a range of furniture including loungers, patio dining table & chairs and a children's play area with tree house. Parking is available for up to five cars.

Membership of the Low Wood Health, Fitness and Leisure Centre is included for the duration of your stay at Bramrigg House. Four guests may be booked in at any time.
All Guests are entitled to a 10% discount on meals at The Travellers Rest Inn at Grasmere, The Kings Head Hotel at Thirlmere and Sweeney's Bar Restaurant in Keswick. Guests are also entitled to a 10% discount on all purchases made at the Lakeland Speciality Store at The Kings Head Hotel.
Bramrigg House enjoys an idyllic setting at the foot of Helvellyn, on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Grasmere in the heart of the Lake District.
How to find us
By Car From the North: Exit the M6 at junction 40 and take the A66 toward Keswick. Before Keswick turn onto the A591 toward Windemere. Bramrigg House is located 12 miles South of Keswick on the A591. Take a left turn up the path marked for Broadrayne Farm and Grasmere Hostel.
From the South: Exit the M6 at junction 36 and take the A590 toward Windemere and the A591. Continue to the North and Bramrigg House located 8 miles to the North of Windemere on the A591. Just past The Travellers Rest Inn, take a right turn up the path marked for Broadrayne Farm and Grasmere Hostel.
By Rail From the North: Take the train to Carlisle and transfer to the Number 555 bus for Lancaster from outside the station, asking the driver to stop at The Travellers Rest Inn at Grasmere. Bramrigg House is located a five minute walk North of The Travellers Rest Inn, taking a right turn up the path marked for Broadrayne Farm and Grasmere Hostel.
From the South: Take the train to Windemere and transfer to the Number 555 bus for Carlisle from outside the station, asking the driver to stop at The Travellers Rest Inn at Grasmere.
