Property Description
Treetops is a modern 2 bedroom apartment built on the first floor of a wing of Ashurst Bridge House, which is a modest Country House situated in the New Forest National Park. One of the most endearing features of Ashurst Bridge House is that it has no neighbours, but it is close to local facilities such as Supermarkets, numerous take-away (carry out) restaurants so you don't need to cook, railway stations, and just 5 minutes drive from junction 2 of the M27. The best of both worlds.
As its name suggests Treetops has a view of the surrounding Oak woodland, where Deer, Foxes and other New Forest Wild life regularly visit. It is ideally located a short drive to well known tourist venues such as Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst, Beaulieu Motor Museum, Stonehenge, and The Historic Towns of Winchester and Salisbury with their wonderful Cathedrals. West Quay Shopping Mall with its vast range of shops including John Lewis and Marks and Spencer is just 15 minutes drive.
Treetops is within easy reach of the Portsmouth Historic Ships, where the history of Britains firm claim to rule the waves is demonstrated by wonderfully preserved ancient wooden fighting ships of the British Navy, including of course, Nelson's Flag Ship "Victory". Also London and it's wealth of fabulous Museums, and world class shopping, can be reached by train in 90 minutes from nearby stations. The Isle of Wight can be reached by ferry from Southampton or Lymington. Plus some of the best south coast beaches are a short drive away.
No visit to the New Forest would be complete without visiting some of it's ancient Pubs, and enjoying a pint of Real Ale. Treetops has several pubs nearby that we can recommend.
If walking and cycling are your favourite vacation activities, Treetops is an ideal starting point as there are cycle/walking routes directly into the Forest from the front door, without the need for a car.
Treetops offers all modern facilities including dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, Wifi, Freeview TV, plus all linens and a welcome pack. Should you decide to order your groceries in advance from a Supermarket on-line we will make sure they are stored in the apartment ready for your use on arrival.

Accomodation
Treetops is a luxurious 2 bedroom first floor apartment which can accomodate 4-6 people. There is a double bed in the main bedroom, two single 3ft beds in the second bedroom and a futon settee that can be converted into a double bed in the lounge . The modern kitchen is well equipped, with dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, 5 burner gas hob, electric oven and grill, ceramic butler sink, toaster, toasted sandwich maker, cutlery and china. Linens will be provided and the beds made up ready for you when you arrive. There is an extendable dining table with 6 chairs, and the large airy lounge with exposed beams has a superb view of the nearby Oak Woodland , and with a sliding patio door leading to a large furnished private balcony, where guests can use the gas BBQ while enjoying the countryside. The bathroom has a large separate deluge shower, as well as a bath, toilet and counter top wash basin.
Well behaved children are very welcome. There is a playpark within a few minutes walk, with facilities for skateboarding, BMX track and zipwires. The heart of the forest can be reached by bicycle very easily. Because the apartment is on the first floor we regret that pets cannot be accomodated. We can recommend nearby kennels where your pet can enjoy a break in the New Forest too. Cot and Highchair can be provided on request.
Access
To the House is one step up from the drive.The Apartment is via a flight of stairs through the old Buttery. The apartment is all on one level.
Travel Info & Local Advice
To get here
By Road: leave the M3 and follow signs to M27 West. Leave the M27 at Junction 2 and take the A326 signed to "Fawley". Turn right at the third roundabout into Fletchwood Road, and then immediately left into Ashurst Bridge Road. Ashurst Bridge House and Treetops are situated on their own about half way along on the left hand side. If you get to the bridge you have gone too far!
By Rail: We can pick you up from either Southampton Central Station, Totton Station, or Ashurst New Forest Station. Please email us in adance to let us know when you plan to arrive and at which station.
By Air: We have 2 local Airports, Southampton and Bournemouth Hurne, with connecting flights to/from Europe. If you are travelling from further afield e.g USA or Canada, the closest International Airport to Treetops is London Heathrow, or London Gatwick. Transport to/from all of these airports can be arranged at reasonable sost. Please email us for a quote.
